Unit Editions

Unit Editions is a publishing venture driven by the ambition to create beautiful books that furnish the design community and those with an interest in visual culture.

Founded by Spin’s creative director Tony Brook and author Adrian Shaughnessy, Unit Editions came about from a mutual desire to make books on subjects deserving of serious consideration but that escape the gaze of traditional publishing houses.

The editorial focus therefore throws the spotlight on overlooked areas of graphic design, as well as landmark figures from design history. Past publications, for example, have included monographs on design giants such as Wim Crouwel and Herb Lubalin, as well as a hugely successful compendium of corporate identity design manuals.

We aim to excel in the creation of books that combine impeccable content, design and production values for a rapidly-expanding and discerning readership.
