The D&AD is an industry body that represents the design and advertising industry. Spin was invited to design the Awards Annual. Previous annuals were elaborate, and we wanted the annual to be a book with traditional design values.
Our concept was to tell the story of the D&AD through the awards process. A photographic essay charts the progress that an entry would go through, from arrival in the post room to judging and selection, through to the awards evening. The design was reflective of the D&AD as an organisation and a charity. The format acts as a metaphor – unwrapping and revealing the story behind the D&AD.
