Our brief was to give a new name and identity to Google Ideas in order to give further impetus to the work they were undertaking in helping protect vulnerable internet users from outside interference (especially those who are working in difficult political environments). They wanted to keep the values of the brand they had built, but give it more meaning and point it towards the future they wanted to create.
We made a flexible, adaptable, visual language that can be used in many guises, as lettering, as a symbol, in expressive patterns, often hinting at maps. The solution reflects the name without, we hope, being clichéd.
