Haunch of Venison
Haunch of Venison
Named after the London courtyard where it was located, the contemporary art gallery Haunch of Venison, founded by Harry Blain and Graham Southern, featured a roster of stellar artists including Rachel Whiteread, Richard Long and Bill Viola.
It quickly established itself as one of the world's leading private galleries, expanding into New York, Berlin and Zurich before being acquired by Christie’s in 2007.
The visual language was underpinned a structured, multi-faceted approach, aimed at a broad audience composed of curators and collectors, artists, and the public.
The mark came from the notion of an abstracted three legged deer suggesting the letters H and V (the fourth leg residing in the name).
