Waste Age Exhibition

Waste Age Exhibition

Exhibition graphics and signage for London’s Design Museum can be exemplified by work for ‘Waste Age: What Can Design Do?’ (2021–22), featuring an atomic yellow livery, an alphabet made up of detritus and a series of animated infographics. These elements supported the informative and challenging nature of the exhibited work by artists and designers, such as Stella McCartney, Formafantasma, Lacaton & Vassal, Fernando Laposse, Bethany Williams, Phoebe English, Natsai Audrey Chieza and Ibrahim Mahama, who were responding to the man-made material crisis facing us all.

Using sustainable, vegetable-based inks and a printer gun allowed much of the signage and infographics to be applied directly onto recycled materials, so that both the production and publication mirrored the show’s drive towards a zero-waste world. This process was carried out in consultation with a specialist advisory panel, with a complete environmental audit from the URGE collective.
